My version was very tasty but that's where the similarity ends. My dish was not dotted with crunchy garlic. It wasn't quite spicy enough or dark enough. Regardless, it's something delicious I can make from ingredients I already have in the house.
Ingredients - make about 3-4 portions when served over rice.
- 1 1/2 pounds chicken breast - cut into bite size pieces
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 teaspoon brown sugar
- 1 head of garlic - peeled and minced
- Ground white pepper and ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon cooking oil
Directions
- Marinate the chicken with fish sauce, soy sauce and sugar while chopping up garlic and frying it.
- In a large pan over medium high heat, stir garlic in oil until lightly brown.
- Add chicken. Stir occasionally until cooked through. Add ground pepper. Serve over steam jasmine rice.
