If you want to study human nature, the best place to do it is at a hotel breakfast buffet. It's a good cross section of different ages, cultures, and backgrounds. Great for people-watching. Americans and Germans both tend to dress like Rick Steves when they travel - awful. Some people tend to stock up on food like it's their only meal of the day. Mostly, people are oblivious to others and unconcerned with politeness or protocol. Just like life.
