Going Dutch

Lucy and I had lunch at the Park Chalet/Beach Chalet yesterday - it's one of the few places that is kind of touristy, but has decent food and outdoor seating. It's at the foot of Golden Gate Park, located on the Great Highway, so you get the best of the park and ocean simultaneously. The Park Chalet, built a few years ago at the back of the Beach Chalet, is a great addition to this SF institution. It's more modern and open than the Beach Chalet, casual and rarely crowded - good for families and pets. Lucy sat on my foot while I snuck her bits of cubed potato, and we enjoyed the overcast, yet pleasant, day.

After lunch, we took a short walk to the windmill and Queen Wilhemina's tulip garden. It's a beautiful and quiet space, with benches and a manicured lawn. Everyone there was really friendly and seemed peaceful. I don't know why we have a windmill and a tulip garden, but I like it.
